Teaching Assistants work in Primary, Special and Secondary education across all age ranges.
The primary role of the Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.
You will be a positive role models, take part in team meetings; contribute to planning and class activities.
You will learn the theory and show the skills and behaviours required to carry out this role,
promoting self-belief, social inclusion and a high self-esteem. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum.
Entry Requirements
We require all applicants to have GCSE grades C/4 or above in English and Maths or to demonstrate the ability to work at this level
If an Apprentice has not already achieved Level 2 (GCSE C/4 or above) in English & Maths they must: Study for and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 English & Maths at the college by attending classes on site at Loughborough College.
