College graduate and rising racing star Abbi Pulling has been crowned the champion of the F1 Academy sophomore season, following a series of thrilling races in Qatar.
Abbi, who graduated from the bespoke enhanced Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme at the College, in partnership with Motorsport UK had an outstanding season, earning podium positions in all races and gaining a 95-point lead over French competitor Doriane Pin.
Taking to social media, Abbi shared: “Nine podium finishes, six wins, and one championship, it’s a dream come true! This means everything to me, and I’m just so happy.”
Her outstanding season is made even more impressive by her drive in British Formula 4 this year, where she made history as the series’ first female race winner at Brands Hatch. As a result of winning this year’s F1 Academy title, Abbi will receive a fully funded seat in the GB3 Championship in addition to a further 20 days of testing behind the wheel, boosting her opportunity to rise through the ranks of driving.
Abbi was also part of the inaugural F1 Academy season in 2023, lining up on the grid with fellow alumna Jess Edgar, and current College student Chloe Grant where she came fifth overall.
The F1 Academy was founded by Formula One in 2023 as a flagship programme aiming to empower women in professional motorsport. Former professional driver Suzie Wolff is the current managing director of the programme, which has so far supported twenty six female drivers from across the world.
