The esports industry is a fast-growing global industry. Esports is
defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as
individuals or in teams.
The BTEC Level 2 in Esports are for post-16 learners who want to
specialise in a specific occupation, occupational area or technical role.
Developed in close conjunction with leading employers, the BTEC Level 2 in
Esports develops transferable workplace skills, such as good communication and
the ability to work in a team, which employers have identified as essential for
gaining employment in the sector and for progression once the learner is
working.

Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, one being in English or Maths OR Level 1
qualification, such as a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure,
plus an ability to operate at Level 1 in either English or Maths.
Mature students will be considered based on their previous qualifications
and/or relevant work experience.
Progression
You will be able to progress onto a vocational Level 2 course (e.g. NVQ Level
2 in Sports Coaching: Activity Leadership or Level 2 Diploma in Teaching
Exercise and Fitness), onto a Level 3 course (e.g. BTEC Level 3 Esports,
Enterprise and Entrepreneurship), or into employment.
