The prestigious NFL Academy will kick off the new season tomorrow (11th October 2022) with their opening game against IMG Academy being covered live on the NFL UK’s YouTube channel.

The NFL Academy provides students aged 16-19 with pathways into employment, further education and the opportunity to play NCAA college football in the United States by combining full-time education with professional-level American Football coaching.

It is the Academy’s first competitive game since relocating from London to Loughborough where Loughborough College provides high quality accommodation, pastoral support and teaching for its 64 students.

They are also fully integrated into Loughborough University’s elite training ecosystem where a dedicated interdisciplinary team are focused on optimising every element of their performance.

The NFL Academy’s game against IMG will be streamed live on YouTube from 12pm and will be hosted by TalkSport’s NFL reporter John Jackson.

It will feature a 10-minute pre-game show plus the live stream of the game itself, with commentary, replays and score graphics and a short wrap up at the end of the game. Watch all the action here on the NFL UK channel.

What has impressed me most is how well they have integrated with our established athletes and practitioners, showing an exceptional attitude, application and focus on their training.

“This is the first time they will have faced American opposition and have the opportunity to show how far they have developed. They have the whole of Loughborough’s support as they move forwards on this exciting journey.”

Since September, all football and academic operations moved to Loughborough, where a partnership between the College and the University is providing an opportunity for young players to become part of a world-renowned centre of sporting excellence.
