The College’s Beauty and Hair teams launched their new fundraising campaign this week, encouraging clients to indulge in pampering in the name of charity.
From this week, clients can donate to cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better through dedicated boxes at the Radmoor Centre salons, meaning there’s even more reason to treat yourself to a haircut, facial, massage, or fresh set of nails.
What’s more, all tips, merchandise purchases, and donations will go to the final collection total. The department will also hold Wear It Pink days each half term to encourage donations.
Inspired by the Look Good Feel Better cause, the Radmoor Centre’s salon team kicked off their new fundraising initiative, celebrating with balloons, bunting, and of course, lots of pink.
Look Good Feel Better are a nationwide cancer support charity offering free workshops to support all cancer patients in confidence and wellbeing, a cause close to the heart of the Radmoor salon team.
Curriculum Manager Claire Springthorpe shared, “The work Look Good Feel Better is not only relevant to our industry, but is also an important and invaluable opportunity for those processing a cancer diagnosis to maintain a sense of identity and self-care.”
Claire continued, “Two of our staff team have worked with Look Good Feel Better, providing support and leading workshops on changes to the body, hair, and skin, and developing tools for confidence.
“It’s a cause very close to our heart and very personal to us all. One of our lecturers, Kerie Mooney, just recovered from breast cancer, and Look Good Feel Better is a really important cause to us. To know we could raise money for this important charity and make a difference to others like Kerie is a great feeling.”
Clients, staff, and students can now donate to the Look Good Feel Better campaign by visiting the Radmoor Centre.
