Student Henry Maddock has landed a full-time role at Charnwood Borough Council (CBC) following an outstanding work placement through his Business Management and Administration T Level course at Loughborough College.
Reflecting on his journey, Henry said: “It’s been great working with Russ (Clarke, Head of Revenues, Benefits and Customer Experience) and Lisa (Shillcock, Customer Service Team Leader). They have both been very helpful. To be offered a permanent job just after finishing my course was ideal, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Henry joined CBC in February 2024, and have since completed an impressive 315 hours with the customer service team as part of his T Level qualification. His placement, which initially ran through to September, was extended at his own request so he could continue developing his skills and gaining valuable experience.
Russell Clarke praised Henry’s journey, sharing: “It has been great working with Loughborough College to provide an opportunity for work placements at the Council.
“Henry was offered his placement following a short recruitment process and settled in so well, proving himself to be a very quick learner. He has grown into a confident member of the team, and it is testament to his hard work that he has been offered a permanent job.”
Ria Foster, Account Manager for Work Placements at Loughborough College, also highlighted the success of the partnership, adding: “This has been a real success story from our point of view. We want to bridge the gap between education and industry, so this is the perfect outcome.”
