Staff and Students Represented in Inspirational Generation Next Awards

Dedicated staff and apprentices from the College were celebrated this week at the annual Generation Next Awards, facilitated by East Midlands Chamber. During an evening of inspirational awards, the College was proud to be represented through two fantastic winners, and an outstanding nominee.

Taking home the first award of the evening was Emily Barnes, who is currently studying an Engineering Apprenticeship with Donaldson Filtration GB through the College. Emily was announced as the winner of the Apprentice of the Year award, a title which recognises young professionals working towards a qualification.

The second success of the night for Loughborough College came from the Customer Service Award, which was won by Recruitment Consultant for Apprenticeships, Hayley Cousins. Sharing his excitement for Hayley’s win, Business Development Manager at Loughborough College, Chris Hawkins commented, “We are so proud of our hard working Hayley for winning this award! It is a testament to her dedication and commitment to supporting our students and helping them to find the right apprenticeship for them.”

The College was further represented in the Rising Star Award category. Finalists, dubbed as the ‘ones to watch’ were selected for their outstanding contribution to the workplace, promising leadership and responsibility, and ongoing growth within their organisation. We were thrilled to see Senior Admissions Officer Amy Curtis make the shortlist, cementing her status as a young professional with the potential to become a great future leader.

Generation Next is a membership, facilitated by the East Midlands Chamber, working across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. Members are offered access to support in leadership skills, mentoring and networking, and an exclusive set of events and talks from industry professionals to help enhance their career.
