Sports Stars Break National Championship Records

Loughborough College Sport students have achieved staggering success in the AoC Regional competitions this season, with a record-breaking 132 learners qualifying to represent the College at the AoC Sport National Championships.
The annual Championships are scheduled to take place between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th April at the University of Nottingham and surrounding facilities.
Students demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication in the regional heats, claiming the title of Champions in in the East Midlands Regional competition. College sports stars battled it out across multiple disciplines, and took the top titles in football, volleyball, badminton, cross-country running, rugby, boccia, tennis, hockey, and netball to name a few.
In addition to these championship titles, the College’s teams delivered commendable performances in other categories, earning second place titles in Pan Ability football, basketball, cricket, badminton and cross country, and third place awards for men’s basketball and men’s cross-country.
Reflecting on this remarkable achievement, Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Sport and Esports at Loughborough College, shared: “We are immensely proud of our learners’ dedication and hard work, which has culminated in this record breaking milestone.”
Dan Jackson, Elite Sport Manager at the College, added: “Our athletes have showcased exceptional talent across a diverse range of sports. This success is a testament to their perseverance and the robust support system we have in place.”
