After making her TV debut last month, former Creative Arts student Ella has made it to the final of BBC make-up competition, Glow Up.
Having stunned judges Val Garland, Dominic Skinner, and Leomie Anderson, Ella battled her way to the grand finale, due to air on television tonight, Wednesday 15 May. The final Creative Brief for the top three artists will challenge them to create a captivating look that represents their journey in the competition and encapsulates their hopes for the future.
“I’ve really enjoyed showcasing my prosthetics and special effects make-up on the show,” shared Ella. “It’s a chance to really highlight my creativity, and that started for me at Loughborough College.”
Ella joined the Arts and Design course in 2020, and her skills and creativity have flourished from there. Next month, she’ll be joining us to speak to learners about her experiences for our annual Creative Arts Week.
She said, “I’m really looking forward to returning to College! I hope to share some of the confidence I’ve built, and let students know that trusting yourself is the key to success. For me, that really began at College, I found my people, found my passion, and it’s got me so far.”
Ella has wowed the judges, and guest stars, including actor Aimie Atkinson, and international make-up influencer, NikkieTutorials. With a career changing prize at stake – a contract to assist the world’s leading make-up artists and earn the title of Britain’s Next Make-Up Star – Ella is excited to see what comes next.
“I really want to just showcase my work to as many people as possible. My dream is to work in the industry, but I’m just excited to experiment. I want to try everything and learn new skills. There’s so much inspiration out there.”
Good luck, Ella!
