Posted: 25th October 2022 - 2:00pm

Employers made nine job offers and conducted 60 on-the-spot interviews at a special recruitment event organised by the Loughborough Careers & Enterprise Hub.

Nearly 150 jobseekers were given the opportunity to explore new career options with nearly a dozen employers at the latest recruitment event which was held on 14th October 2022.

In total, 113 people were referred to the event from Job Centre Plus and nearly 40 members of the public dropped in to the Loughborough Town Centre hub on the day.

Michael Campbell, Manager of the Careers & Enterprise Hub, said: “We’re delighted that our latest recruitment event has led to yet more job offers. They are always excellent events which help local jobseekers find work or training opportunities and the fact that we bring together employers and jobseekers directly is a brilliant way to quickly establish good matches.

“The events also give people the chance to find out how they can get into training or education to get into a new line of work.”

Employers at the latest event included Amazon, Boo Burgers, Geary’s Bakeries, Barcats, Optima Recruitment, Great Central Railway, Home Instead, Medacs Healthcare and Francis and Gaye Ltd.

The next Careers Hub Recruitment Fair will be held on Wednesday 14th December, from 11am - 2pm.

The Loughborough Careers & Enterprise Hub is a unique partnership between Loughborough College, Loughborough University and Charnwood Borough Council and was created as part of the Loughborough Town Deal.

Based in the heart of Loughborough Market Place, careers and employment experts from Loughborough College offer guidance and support to people who want to boost their careers or get in to work.

Meanwhile, experts from Loughborough University provide guidance, training and mentoring to people who want to start their own businesses.
