Men’s Futsal Team Crowned National Champions at U19s IFA Invitational Cup

The College’s Men’s Futsal team delivered an electrifying performance on home turf this week, to win the prestigious U19s International Futsal Alliance (IFA) Invitational Cup, hosted at Loughborough College.
The tournament featured fierce competition from top sides across the country including Brentford FC, Haywards Heath College, Repton School, Hammersmith Athletic, and Cardiff City Foundation, showcasing some of the upcoming futsal talent from across the UK.
The Loughborough College team impressed throughout the tournament, demonstrating a high level of technical skill, discipline, and relentless determination. Their consistent performances and ability to rise to the occasion saw them outplay and outlast strong opposition to lift the coveted trophy.
Miguel Ribeiro, Head of Football at Loughborough College, praised the squad’s performance and resilience, sharing: “This group of players has shown incredible commitment and passion for the game. Winning this tournament against such high-calibre opposition is a testament to their hard work, unity, and belief.
“I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved today, and it reflects the growing strength of our futsal programme here at Loughborough College.”
Founded in South America, futsal is a football-based sport played between two five-a-side teams over a 40-minute match.
