Learners from across Motorsport, Electrical, and Engineering courses had a unique opportunity to make industry connections and discover insights about their future careers at a manufacturers fair held at The Hub.
Organised in collaboration with City Electrical Factors, representatives from more than ten industry suppliers took part in the event, offering information and advice to students from across the College. Companies from both across the UK and around the world were on site, including Sheffield-founded power tool supplier Armeg, and German electrical distribution provider Hager.
Students were offered the chance to speak to industry professionals and gain new knowledge about their prospective careers. Demonstrations and displays from a variety of providers, ranging from lighting, to electrical installation allowed learners to become inspired by the numerous pathways available after studying.
One highlight came from Wera, title sponsor of the Loughborough College Motorcross team whose display demonstrated their range of top-of-the-line tools. Wera also showcased the College’s race winning rallycross car, which heads to the BTRDA Clubman’s Rallycross Championship final in Scotland at the end of the month.
Chair of Governors for Loughborough College, Stuart Lindeman attended the fair and expressed his enthusiasm for the event, sharing, “It’s so great to have professionals here on site who can share their enthusiasm and skills with our students.
“Learners get a real-world perspective on the industry, which can only be a good thing. When employers like these have support for what we do at the College, anything is possible. The potential for the future is enormous.”
