Posted: 26th January 2024 - 9:39am

Loughborough College has achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating across its education programmes for young people and adults, a new report has said.  This includes A Levels, technical and vocational qualifications, providing education for over 4,000 learners.

Receiving a Good rating overall, it also achieved Outstanding for the cross-college judgements of Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes.

The report praised the College’s standards of teaching and learning, stating that ‘learners value the quality of teaching, the quality of resources and the level of individual support that they receive’.

It also celebrated how learners benefit from an ‘inclusive and welcoming environment in which learners have room to thrive’ and are ‘well-motivated and positive about their studies’.

Heather Clarke, Acting Principal and CEO at Loughborough College said: “To achieve an Outstanding rating for our young people and adult learning provisions is an absolute testament to all of the hard work and dedication of our wonderful staff and students. We set the highest possible standards in education and this is a reflection of our student-first approach. I couldn’t be prouder of the overall result and would like to thank all students, staff and partners for their contribution.”

Stuart Lindeman, Chair of Governors at the college, added: “Loughborough College offers learners a world-class education and these results reinforce the sheer commitment and dedication of our fantastic staff body.  I was also delighted that Ofsted praised the role of leaders and governors in ensuring high-quality resources for learners. Well done to all involved.”

The report comes after the College was recently awarded the highest honour in education after receiving a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for its outstanding Space Engineering programme.
