Loughborough Careers and Enterprise Hub Celebrates Successful Recruitment Event

Loughborough Careers and Enterprise Hub hosted a highly successful recruitment event, in partnership with Loughborough College and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The event, supported by Loughborough Jobcentre's Employer Advisors, provided jobseekers with valuable career opportunities and direct connections with employers.
With over 190 jobseekers in attendance, the event proved to be an inspiration for the community of individuals seeking new career paths. Highlighting the challenges faced by older jobseekers, the Careers and Enterprise Hub also held a dedicated session was held for those over 50, ensuring tailored support and guidance.
Alka Prinja, Careers and Enterprise Manager at Loughborough College said: “The event was a huge success, with nearly 200 attendees. We had a wide range of organisations and training providers join us to showcase their opportunities, and we are so pleased to see all the connections made between jobseekers and potential employers.”
Some of the businesses and organisations who attended the event included local employers such as East Midlands Housing, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue, and Loughborough Nursery, as well as national and international enterprises including Avon, Compass Group, and the Ministry of Defence.
Both employers and jobseekers praised the event, with all participating employers expressing interest in future events. Jamie Perkins, Employment Advisor for Loughborough’s Jobcentre Plus reflected: “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we saw some great connections being formed. Everyone involved is so proud to be supporting employment growth in the local community.”
Building on this momentum, Loughborough Careers and Enterprise Hub, DWP, and local employers are already planning future events to continue providing jobseekers with valuable career and training opportunities.
The Careers and Enterprise Hub is a partnership between Loughborough College and Loughborough University. Through education, training, or employment, The Hub offers advice to individuals looking to develop and enhance their careers and employability skills, as well as supporting small and medium enterprises in training, business start up programmes, and community-focused initiatives.
