Posted: 25th June 2024 - 11:27am

In honour of their hard work and commitment, Further Education students have been celebrated for their successes at Loughborough College this week in several course-specific leaving ceremonies.

The campus was bursting with pride as students were joined by their families and friends, who enjoyed presentations and awards in the Sports Hall.

Tutors and Curriculum Managers shared anecdotes and memories with the students, highlighting the great times they’ve shared in the classroom, as well as the skills and knowledge developed.

Corrie Harris, Principal and CEO at Loughborough College shared how great it was for the students to have this time to celebrate their success with their peers.

In her speech to the Hairdressing, Barbering, and Beauty Therapy students, she encouraged them to take a moment to reflect on everything they’ve achieved during their time at the College, and the experiences they’ve had.

She said: “This is testament to the resilience and determination you have all shown. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and it’s an honour to celebrate your success. May today serve as a reminder of what you can accomplish with perseverance and dedication.”

Across a total of nine moving and inspiring ceremonies, every curriculum area had time to celebrate their achievements, with awards being handed out for Student of the Year and Most Improved in each class.

Student Louis Hallam, who was awarded Hair Stylist of the Year shared, “It feels amazing! I’m going on to work as a professional hair stylist now, and I’m so excited. I feel really ready and prepared.”

Following the ceremony, learners, friends, and family were able to enjoy the good weather and played lawn games whilst enjoying treats prepared by students at the Radmoor Restaurant.
