Following an exciting showcase of skills earlier this year, first year student and JTL apprentice Cole Galligan was announced this weekend as the winner of the national Apprentice of the Year title at the 2024 Aico HomeLINK Community Awards.
Beating out hundreds of other apprentices from across the country, Cole was recognised for his outstanding technical skills, dedication, and professionalism in his role at his company, Raylec. The sought-after title also celebrates apprentices who act as role models for their peers in the electrical industry.
Supervising Technician for Electrical Installation and Engineering at Loughborough College, Keith Large shared, “What a remarkable achievement. Cole hasn’t even completed his first year of his apprenticeship yet, and already he is showing such great promise! We are all so proud of him.”
The Aico Community Awards provide entrants with the opportunity to showcase their talents, projects, and innovations. The event also raised awareness and vital funds in support of the Electrical Industries Charity, (EIC).
Reflecting on his momentous win, Cole said, “This recognition means the world to me…it is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the incredible opportunities and growth that apprenticeships can offer when paired with some enthusiasm.
“I’m thrilled about the impact this award will have on my career, opening doors to new possibilities and affirming my commitment to excellence in my field.”
Cole’s win follows his inclusion in eFIXX’s ’30 Under 30 – Class of 2024’ list, which highlights some of the up and coming young talents in the electrical industry.
Congratulations, Cole!
