Cricketer D’Nica Leads England to Victory at International Tournament

Public Services student and budding sporting talent D'Nica Roff emerged as a standout performer for England's Women's Indoor Cricket team at this year’s England Asia Cup held in Sri Lanka.

Roff's role was pivotal in securing the trophy for England, with her outstanding performances also earning her the coveted title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament as well as the final game.

The England Women's Indoor Cricket team clinched the championship title, fending off competition from teams across Asia, including India, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, showcasing their talent and teamwork on the international stage.

Throughout the tournament, D’Nica delivered crucial performances, playing a pivotal role in England's success, earning her the MVP accolades.

Reflecting on the tournament, D’Nica said, “Travelling to Sri Lanka to represent England was an amazing experience. I can’t wait to represent my country again!”

In addition to stellar performances throughout the competition, England Women dominated the final match, winning by 82 runs over host team, Sri Lanka. The tournament, which was held over an intense five days of action has also seen enthusiasm for the game grow, with a new fan base for all teams developing in Sri Lanka.

Curriculum Manager for Public Services at Loughborough College, Tim Turner shared his enthusiasm for D’Nica’s success, adding, “D’Nica is an inspiration to aspiring sportspeople everywhere. She is a dedicated learner and talented cricketer. Everyone in the Public Services department and across the College are so proud of her, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”
