College Staff Celebrate Neurodiversity with Inclusive Teaching Event
Wednesday 26th March 2025

As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week (Monday 17th – Friday 21st March), the College successfully hosted a special Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (TLA) event focused on bringing together teaching staff from across the college to share and learn from each other's experiences.
The initiative provided an opportunity for staff to showcase their inclusion strategies and best practices for supporting neurodiverse students, and allowed staff the opportunity to highlight the successful techniques they employ to celebrate and support their learners.
Teaching staff from across different departments, including Apprenticeships, Art and Design, Business, Engineering, and Sport participated in the event, displaying their resources, case studies, and group profiles, illustrating how diverse student needs are met. Over the course of the event, staff were able to visit other curriculum area stalls and explore different approaches to inclusive teaching.
Head of Quality and Initial Teacher Training, Stacey Adams arranged the event, and shared: “Staff throughout the College are truly committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students, including those with high needs and Education, Health, and Care Plans, can thrive.
“The success of this event highlights the dedication of staff in ensuring no student is left behind and that the best possible strategies are in place to support every learner.”
Following the event, staff were encouraged to reflect on and discuss the practices they observed, with many expressing interest in implementing new ideas in their own teaching strategies.
