Loughborough College students Bobby Bridges and Jayden Smith have proudly represented Great Britain in the International Federation of American Football’s U17s European Junior Flag Football Championships, held this weekend in Serbia.

The dynamic duo helped lead the national team to an impressive 3rd-place finish, earning high praise for their performances on the international stage.

The tournament brought together Europe’s top young flag football talent, with Great Britain competing fiercely against the best the continent has to offer. Both Bobby and Jayden contributed significantly to the team’s success, demonstrating skill, athleticism, and teamwork throughout the competition.

Their achievement is a source of pride not only for the nation but also for Loughborough College, where they have honed their skills both on and off the field.

Sharing his pride, Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Sport at Loughborough College, said, “We couldn’t be prouder of Bobby and Jayden. Their hard work and dedication have been clear from day one, and it’s fantastic to see them achieving on the international stage.

The pair’s success is a testament to both Bobby and Jayden’s commitment to developing their sporting talent, and the College’s ongoing work to promote opportunities for learners to compete at the highest level through the Flag Football Academy.

As flag football continues to grow in popularity across Europe, the achievements of Bobby and Jayden will no doubt inspire other young athletes to pursue their own sporting dreams.
