College learners and staff in the running for Charnwood Sports Awards

Loughborough College students are amongst the borough’s top sportspeople and athletes nominated for the 2022 Charnwood Sports Awards.

Four College students and alumni have been nominated for the Junior and Senior Sportsperson awards and the College has been included on the list for ‘Workplaces making a difference for Health and Wellbeing’.

The awards, organised by Charnwood Borough Council’s Sports and Recreation team, Active Charnwood and The Active Charnwood Alliance, highlight the work and dedication of individuals, clubs, coaches and volunteers across the borough.

Loughborough College Principal, was delighted to see the College and its students nominated.

“Loughborough College continues to be recognised not just as an outstanding place to gain an education, but also as somewhere producing a pipeline of talent across a range of sports and academic disciplines.

“We wish our nominated students Jacob, Dahnon, Thomas and Olivia every success. I am especially delighted staff members Danny Lee, and Steve Wilkinson have been recognised for their efforts and endeavours to make Loughborough College a centre of excellence for health and wellbeing in the workplace.”

The awards will be announced at an event at Burleigh Court, Loughborough on Monday 5th December.
