College Hosts Aircraft Experience Day

Loughborough College welcomed students and staff from Burton College as part of an Aircraft Experience Day. 

The young learners and their tutor joined Loughborough College lecturer Deborah Spiers to experience Loughborough’s Mock Cabin facilities and learn about issues including dealing with a cabin fire, practising safety demonstrations, and preparing for emergency situations.   

“Passenger and aircraft safety is the priority for all airlines,” said Deborah.

“Cabin crew and airline staff are taught the safety rules but being able to practice safety drills and emergency procedures in our Mock Cabin facility really helps students understand the importance of safety measures on board.

“Hosting Burton College and students in the local community to share our experience and develop their skills is all part of Loughborough College’s mission, and the Mock Cabin is a great training space and learning tool we are happy to share with other organisations.”
