For Loughborough-based ecommerce automation business Flowmondo, raising talent from the ground up is key to developing a positive office culture, and enriching staff. By collaborating with Flowmondo, Loughborough College has proven itself as pioneers in the evolution of the T Level qualification, creating opportunities for students to gain valuable skills and contribute to real-world projects. The company has hosted T Level student placements, integrating them into its team and empowering them to thrive in a dynamic business environment.
Reflecting on the growth of their T Level students, CEO Alistair Wilson praised their development, sharing: “We have watched them become more capable and confident. We became better by investing in them, and in return they have become more able.”
At Flowmondo, students are encouraged to take on structured certifications, which has helped them in hands-on project work and integration development. It’s this strategy for overall development that allows T Level learners to flourish whilst on their placement.
“It’s encouraging to see them become more focused and confident in their work, whilst they retain that youthful energy and fresh perspective.” Continues Alistair, “They have given us capacity to respond faster to client needs and have supported more senior members of staff in their preparation. This has really created a sense of self-governance which still aligns with our work.”
Loughborough College plays a crucial role in this development, ensuring that students are prepared for their placements. By continuing to bridge the gap between education and industry, the College has been able to support students as they begin to make decisions about their future careers and life paths.
Looking back on Flowmondo’s experience with T Level learners, Alistair is keen to see more students come through the office. He explained: “We would definitely consider supporting more T Level students in the future. We’d love to increase our relationship with the College to grow our offer. We have already offered two students further opportunities, and I’m confident that we’ll continue to do so.”
