Leading by Example – Graduates Tiga and Charlie Celebrate their Success

Recent graduate Tiga has been studying with Loughborough College since she was 16. Having been supported pastorally and academically, Tiga says staying at the College to complete her Top Up degree in Leadership and Management was the best decision for her.
“I did my A Levels at Loughborough College and felt confident in knowing that staying on to complete my degree would develop my skills even further,” said Tiga.
Designed to equip students with a firm understanding of key leadership expertise and a wealth of transferable skills, graduates like Tiga and course mate Charlie collected their certificates at this year’s Graduation ceremony confident that they’re ready for their next steps in employment.
Charlie explained: “I’m starting a new job in a nutraceutical firm, where I’ll be working as an account manager. I’ll be able to use the management techniques I’ve learnt at Loughborough College in the role, and I feel ready to get started. I’ve learnt invaluable skills beyond the course content that will stay with me throughout my career.”
Outside of the classroom, both Tiga and Charlie have benefitted from the support offered by the staff at the College. “The staff have been fantastic, they’ve supported me more than I could’ve imagined.” Shared Tiga. Charlie agreed, adding: “Absolutely. A special mention to our lecturer Harriet. Neither of us could’ve done this without her encouragement.”
Looking ahead, Tiga and Charlie are excited for their next chapters, and feel ready for the journey ahead, crediting both their academic and personal growth during their time at the College.
“I am prepared,” said Tiga, who is going on to employment in a school. “I’ve learnt so much and grown as a person.”
Charlie agreed, sharing: “I’ve also really matured a lot. I have balanced education with swimming for Great Britain, and Loughborough College has allowed me to do that. I’ve developed new skills beyond the classroom.”
