Level 3 Diploma L3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning

Teaching Assistants work in Primary, Special and Secondary education across all age ranges.
The primary role of the Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.
You will be a positive role models, take part in team meetings; contribute to planning and class activities.
You will learn the theory and show the skills and behaviours required to carry out this role,
promoting self-belief, social inclusion and a high self-esteem. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum.

Assessments will be through regular formative assessment sessions and the development of a portfolio demonstrating learning and development activities with their application in the workplace covering:
- Understanding How Pupils Learn and Develop
- Working with Teachers to Understand and Support Assessment for Learning

- Collaboration/Engagement
- Promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Learners aged 19+.
The Student has not studied a full level 3 or higher in the area
Earning less than £35,000

This programme is designed for new entrants to a role in the education sector and to provide progression and re-skilling routes for existing staff.
You can be working within a primary or secondary school setting.
