Financial support available to students and how to apply.


Current Students

Loughborough College has a number of bursary and scholarship programmes available to students which are detailed in the College’s Access agreements available here. These are summarised as follows;

  • Achievement scholarships for students progressing from Loughborough College internally onto Loughborough College Higher Education of up to £1,000.
    • £1,000pa for the duration of your degree programme of study (paid in instalments) when achieving 168 UCAS points from your 19/20 Level 3 course and enrolling on a Degree Programme in 20/21
    • £750 for the duration of your degree programme of study (paid in instalments) when achieving 112+ UCAS points from your 19/20 Level 3 course and enrolling on a Degree Programme in 20/21
    • £500 for the duration of your degree programme of study (paid in instalments) when achieving 80+ UCAS points from your 19/20 Level 3 course and enrolling on a Degree Programme in 20/21

  • A Part time and Mature student Scholarship of £250 is available to all part time mature students enrolling with Loughborough College Higher Education, who studied their Level 3 qualification with Loughborough College.
  • A Care Leavers Scholarship of £1,000 is available to a maximum of three students who are identified as a care leaver and are enrolled with Loughborough College Higher Education.
  • The Access to Learning Fund is a fund available to assist any student enrolled with Loughborough College Higher Education, who find themselves in financial difficulty which is affecting their ability to access tuition or study. The amount available will be assessed on a student by student basis and is subject to meeting criteria.
  • There is a guarantee of a free laptop available to all students who progress from completing a Level 3 qualification at Loughborough College to enrolling on a degree programme with Loughborough College Higher Education, regardless of qualifications on entry. This laptop will be provided to all eligible students once they have remained enrolled for a period of six weeks.

New Students From 25/26

LOW INCOME BURSARY
Provides £500 per year of study for students with a residual household income below £25,000 who are eligible for full SFE student loans. This is paid in two £250 instalments.
 
FOOD BURSARY
Students who were previously eligible for Free School Meals can access up to £4.50 per day for on-campus meals, paid daily or weekly based on timetabled days.
 
CARE LEAVERS BURSARY
Available to UK domiciled Care Leavers who have been in care for at least 13 weeks since age 14 (while under 21 at course start). Provides £1000 per year, paid in two £500 instalments.
 
ACCESS TO LEARNING FUND
Assists UK domiciled students receiving maximum statutory funding who can demonstrate financial hardship. Awards are determined on a case-by-case basis.
 
TRAVEL BURSARY
Offers up to £50 per year for UK domiciled students receiving maximum statutory funding who can demonstrate financial hardship.
 
RAISING ASPIRATIONS SCHOLARSHIP
Available to students who completed Level 3 at Loughborough College in the year directly before enrolling in a Level 4 or higher program. Benefits include:
A laptop or iPad during semester 1 of year 1
Annual cash awards based on UCAS points: • £500 for 168+ points • £375 for 112-167 points • £250 for 80-111 points • £250 for DiSE
An additional payment at the end of the year for passing all assessments first time

Statement relating to fee inflation

Students enrolling onto a Degree level programme with Loughborough College are guaranteed to be charged a fixed price for their annual tuition fee for the duration of their programme. Students are indemnified by the College against inflationary year on year rises in this respect. The tuition fee charged in the first year will continue to be the fee charged in all subsequent years of study assuming the mode of study remains the same and the student remains enrolled continuously.
