LOUGHBOROUGH COLLEGE ATHLETICS ACADEMY

Loughborough College Athletics Academy has developed a new exciting 16-18 athletics programme. Loughborough College Athletics Academy has fantastic working relationships with Loughborough Students Athletics Club, Loughborough University and British Athletics.

the training

Loughborough College Athletics Academy will coordinate your training requirements working alongside Loughborough Students Athletics Club to ensure you access the correct training group to improve your performance.

Training schedules will be monitored by the Loughborough College Athletics Academy coordinator to ensure there is no overload to training schedules.

Athletes will also have a group strength & conditioning session once a week.

There are also various workshops that happen throughout the year on nutrition, psychology, anti-doping and athletes lifestyle.

Competitions

There will be opportunities to compete in a range of competitions as part of the Loughborough College Athletics Academy and Charnwood Athletics Club, however there is no requirement to compete in any competitions as part of the Academy and athletes are able to continue to compete for their current athletics club.

Applications

How to apply for an academy.

  • Attend an Open Day
  • Apply for your course (online or at the Open Day)
  • Attend an applicant event for your programme of study
  • Once you have a place at Loughborough College on your chosen programme of study. you will be sent an email about which Sports Academy you are interested in joining - complete the form on the email
  • Apply for Accommodation if needed
  • Attend the Pre Programme Day for your programme of study (June)
  • Attend the Pre Programme Day for the Sport Academies (July)
  • Enroll on to your programme of study (August)
  • You will be invited to the training sessions for the first 2-4 weeks and squad selections will happen then (September)
