Chris Cockerton
Dean of Higher Education
Hello and welcome to Loughborough College. We’re delighted you have chosen to study your undergraduate programme with us and we’re excited to meet you in September.
Here at Loughborough College we offer degree level study to suit everyone, from Higher National Diplomas to full BA, BSc or BEng honours degrees and they are awarded by some of the best universities in the country, if not the world.
You will be part of a community of around 1000 students choosing to study their degree with us at the college, making us one of the largest college-based providers in the country. However, we do pride ourselves on our personalised approach, supporting you to achieve your very best. We have a dedicated undergraduate centre where the vast majority of your teaching will take place and all of our students have access to a personal academic tutor, whose job it is to help you overcome any problems you may encounter and guide you in your studies.
One of the great things about studying at Loughborough College is the additional opportunities that we provide to enhance your employability and build your confidence for the world of work or postgraduate study. The college has one of the highest graduate employment rates in the country, with 98% of our students going on to further study or being in work within six months of graduating.
We value enterprise and entrepreneurship at the college, so much so that we have had teams in the national final of the Young Enterprise Start Up competition for a number of years, and celebrated wins in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024. We were also European Champions in 2023 and Runners-Up in 2024! In terms of extra-curricular opportunities, you will also have access to the Loughborough Students Union (LSU), which offers a range of sporting opportunities as well as clubs, societies, volunteering and fundraising initiatives for you to get involved with. Those of you on Loughborough University validated courses are also eligible to represent Loughborough University in BUCS competitions.
I hope that you enjoy your time with us at Loughborough College and make the most of the endless opportunities available to you through your course, via the Student’s Union and the wider community. I look forward to meeting you all in September. Welcome to the Loughborough Family!
