A versatile Loughborough College student has made his Great Britain debut in the European Triathlon Junior Cup in Poland.
Will Bloom, 18, who is studying a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport & Exercise Sciences, has honed his athletic ability as part of the College’s unique Triathlon Academy over the past two years and got his reward with a call up on the British team.
He placed 19th in a field of 26 athletes in his first-ever international competition.
Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Further Education Sport, said: “We’re so pleased for Will. He works so hard and is so dedicated to his sport so getting his first taste of international competition was thoroughly deserved.
“I have no doubt he will go from strength to strength and continue to fly the flag for his country with pride.”
