Student scoops bronze medal in national Judo championship

A sport student from Loughborough College has earned a bronze medal after competing in the British School Judo National Championship.

Tecca Ford, 17, won her medal after five contests in the Girls’ Year 12-13 over 70kg category at the tournament in Sheffield on the weekend of 12th-13th March 2022.

Tecca is currently studying a BTEC Foundation Diploma in Sport & Exercise Sciences at Loughborough College.

James Maudsley, a curriculum manager at College, said: “We’re really proud of Tecca’s achievement. She works extremely hard and is determined to go head-to-head with the best in the country to challenge herself and boost her development in the sport.

“She manages competing and training while juggling her academic studies and playing rugby so she’s done exceptionally well to add this medal to her CV.”
