Former Loughborough College swimmer Molly Renshaw has been crowned European 200m breaststroke champion at this year’s European Championships.
The gold medal winner secured the European title in the pool in Budapest on 22 May, whilst also setting a new British record in the 100m breaststroke.
Fellow College sport alumna Abbie Wood also claimed fifth spot in the 200m final.
Matt O’Dowd, Head of Elite Sport at Loughborough College, said: “It’s incredible to be able to watch our students and alumni perform on the elite stage.
“The College family are all delighted for Molly and Abbie’s success at this European Championships, a great stepping-stone to another summer of sport.”
Molly swam just off her lifetime best, the British record she set earlier in April, to secure the gold medal against European competitors.
