Loughborough College is standing together with its sporting family across the country to support a social media boycott against online discrimination and abuse.
From 3pm today, Friday, 30th April 2021 until 11:59pm on Monday, 3rd May 2021, we will join organisations such as The Premier League, EFL, the Association of Colleges, Kick It Out and Women in Football in the boycott.
As an organisation that embraces inclusion and diversity, we want to show our support and come together with English football to call for social media companies like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to do more to tackle online hate, whilst highlighting the importance of educating people in the ongoing fight against discrimination.
We are supporting this movement to help educate young people and inspire them to take a stand against toxic behaviour online and understand the consequences of online abuse and the effect that it has.
