New music release I.D. is set to be another hit for Loughborough College music student Ricki Dhindsa. The 18 year old composed, produced and provided the vocals for the hip hop track, which is available on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music and aims to build on his earlier bhangra dance successes. Ricki composed and produced last year’s Line, which saw him star in the video and share vocals with his dad, the award-winning musician Kebi Dhindsa. Father and son also collaborated on 2015 hit YPPD. “We recently toured internationally and we got a great response with lots of TV and radio appearances for us,” said Ricki. “We shot the last video for Line on location in India and it has had more than half a million views. “My new track is out on our label Yaar Records and I sing in Punjabi but there’s a more westernized feel to it. My dad came up with the words and I wrote the music and produced the track in the studio we’ve set up. “Having the studio gives me the chance to develop lots of different beats – and people love the beats, even if they don’t understand the lyrics. “I am hoping this crossover in style on I.D. will bring us even more fans. “This is purely an audio track but the video for our next release is already going through its final edit. It’s all really exciting.
