Posted: 1st August 2024 - 10:11am

Celebrating the growing partnership with local employer, the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), representatives from Loughborough College awarded the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) with the prestigious Gold Employer Plaque.

This commemoration demonstrates the exceptional dedication to creating supportive and enriching workplaces for their employees. CIMSPA's initiatives include career development workshops, and a supportive work culture that prioritises the growth and development of employee skills through external partnerships, including Loughborough College.

Laura Shepherd, Director of Strategic Partnerships and External Relationships at Loughborough College shared, "CIMSPA set a benchmark for professional excellence with their unwavering dedication to staff development and we are thrilled to be highlighting and celebrating this partnership.

“CIMPSA share our vision of lifelong learning and professional development. As we continue to work together, this Gold Employer plaque signifies the strides we are making in enhancing the standards and quality of the sport and physical activity sector.”

Through an ongoing partnership to implement a local skills plan for sport and physical activity across the region, and enrolling 20 employees to our apprenticeships, CIMSPA has also worked with the College to support several staff members through Operations or Departmental Manager Apprenticeships.

Lead Account Manager for Loughborough College, Lois Smith added, “CIMSPA aligns seamlessly with Loughborough College's mission to advance education and professional skills in the industry.

“Having named the College as the National Further Education Partner for the Local Skills Plan for Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, we are pleased to play a key role in the development and advancement of CIMSPA’s staff.”
