A former Loughborough College student who was one day away from completing cabin crew training when the pandemic hit has finally been granted her wings.

Hannah Doherty, 20, who completed her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism in 2019 has joined the prestigious ranks of British Airways cabin crew.

Hannah said: “I feel like I’ve waited forever for this moment. The training was such a great experience and I had two flights in May.”

The former student from Market Harborough was one day away from completing the intense airline training when lockdown brought it to an end in March 2020. After a refresher course she has now been granted her wings.

Donna Rowley, travel and tourism lecturer at Loughborough College added: “This is what success looks like in our travel team.

“We’re always delighted when our students achieve their goals and join the exciting travel and tourism industry and know Hannah will be an inspiration to our current and future students.”
