Festive Christmas Card Competition Design Winner Announced

The annual Loughborough College Christmas card was unveiled last week by Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr. Margaret Smidowicz, who also chose the winning design from a host of fantastic entries from our Level 2 and 3 Art students.

Level 3 learner Abigail was the artist behind the winning design, which depicts a festive Christmas tree decked out in Loughborough College baubles, and woodland creatures, who are often found at home in Leicestershire.

Unveiling the winner at our annual Christmas lights switch on celebration, Mayor Smidowicz said, “We received 40 submissions from our very talented art students. It was a hard decision to pick just one, but I chose three outstanding cards, with Abigail’s design taking first prize.”

Abigail’s card has now been digitised and will be sent out to community partners and stakeholders with a festive message from Principal and CEO, .

Curriculum Manager for Art and Design, Gary Stefanetti shared, “We had some amazing entries from our students, and it was great to see how they were inspired by the competition and made their own individual interpretations on the theme.

“Abigail’s design is fantastic and really captures the spirit of the season. I’m really pleased that her work will be representing the College.”
