It has been a glorious few weeks for Loughborough College alumni and England footballers Ben Chilwell and Jude Bellingham.
Former Leicester City defender Ben won the Champions League with Chelsea at the end of May and was named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships this summer.
At 17, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude became the second youngest England international of all time when he made his debut last year and has also made Southgate’s final squad for the tournament.
Ben studied at the College between 2013-15 and gained various sport diplomas while Jude completed a Level 3 BTEC in Sport earlier this year. The College’s sporting diplomas teach everything from nutrition and psychology, to physiology and exercise.
Danny Lee, sport curriculum manager, said: “We are so proud to see our former learners making an impact on the global stage. It really is a credit to them and to the staff at Loughborough College who work so hard to ensure our students enjoy an enriching experience.
“We’ve been called a sporting talent factory because of the number of athletes who go on to represent their countries in sport. Jude and Ben are the latest example. We wish them and all of the home nations every success in the European Championships this summer.”
