Student cricketers struck gold as Loughborough College brought home a haul of medals after outstanding performances at the annual national college championships.
College athletes also scooped silver in badminton and a bronze medal in pan-disability football at the Association of Colleges National Championships which were held at the University of Nottingham over the weekend of 22nd - 24th April 2022.
In total, 86 students from the College took part, with 19 leaving the tournament with medals.
Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for FE Sport at Loughborough College, said: “Our students put in some amazing performances in one of the most competitive AoC National Championships I can remember.
“To come away with the cricket title and a silver in badminton is fantastic. We’re especially proud of our pan-disability football team for finishing third in their first-ever competition. It was a truly sensational effort.
“We have a proud reputation of developing sporting stars and that baton looks like it is safe hands based on what we saw in Nottingham this weekend.”
