Students, staff, and children from across Loughborough College and the Radmoor Nursery have once again got creative in the name of charity, raising a staggering £2,583 for the annual BBC Children in Need appeal.
The Sports Department took fundraising to the next level with a week-long series of themed fancy dress days. Staff and students participated enthusiastically, donning outfits to match daily themes such as Pyjamas and Dressing Gowns, Full Sports Kits, Colour Match, and Suited & Booted. The imaginative costumes and collective effort raised an impressive £2,508.32.
Meanwhile, the College’s Radmoor Nursery celebrated with a delightful polka dot dress-up day, where children and staff embraced spots whilst also hosting a delicious cake sale, which proved a huge success.
Curriculum Manager for Sport and Esport at Loughborough College, Danny Lee said: “We're incredibly proud of the creativity and generosity shown by everyone who took part. Events like these showcase the power of community and the impact we can have when we come together for a good cause.”
Altogether, Loughborough College raised £2,583.10 for Children in Need, contributing to the nationwide effort to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
This staggering fundraising campaign is the latest in the College’s charity and community outreach efforts which feed into the nationwide Good for Me, Good for FE initiative. Over the last academic year, students and staff contributed more than 500 hours of volunteer time for numerous community projects, and raised nearly £10,000 for non-profit organisations both locally and nationally.
