Posted: 16th August 2024 - 4:27pm

The 2024-25 Premier League season kicks off today, Friday 16 August as Manchester United face off against Fulham, featuring College alum Calvin Bassey.

Calvin is one of Loughborough College’s 13 footballing superstars looking to raise the Premier League trophy this season, and one of more than 80 players lining up for a variety of clubs across the globe heralding from the College.

Representing Read Madrid, Hannover 96, and Al-Khaleej to name a few, former learners are truly making an unforgettable mark on the world of men’s football. Curriculum Manager for Sport and Esport at Loughborough College, Danny Lee said, “It’s always fantastic to see our alumni succeed in their chosen fields.

“We are all excited to see how the season plays out here in England, and in leagues across the world. Everyone at College is so proud, and we are rooting for the success of our former students. We’ll also be excited to celebrate our talented alumna at the launch of the new season of the Women’s Super League coming next month.”
