Loughborough College’s Radmoor Restaurant has completed a £30,000 facelift thanks to a generous grant from The Savoy Educational Trust.
The revamp means the College can strengthen the quality of the Radmoor training restaurant with new flooring, a modernised bar area and improved dining area.
Award-winning chef Darren Creed, Curriculum Manager at Loughborough College, said: “The whole hospitality team is delighted to have completed these improvements thanks to this generous grant from The Savoy Educational Trust.
“Revamping the restaurant environment means, that when we fully re-open, our guests can enjoy our brilliant food in a more modern and contemporary environment.
“We also aim to attract more business customers who could use the venue for meetings or events. It is an exciting time at the Radmoor.”
The Savoy Educational Trust is an independent, grant-giving charitable trust, whose main aim is to advance and develop education, training and qualifications within the hospitality industry. It awards grants for a wide variety of hospitality-related projects.
A Trust spokesperson said: “The Trustees were delighted to award funding for the Radmoor training restaurant refurbishment recently. They are always very keen to ensure colleges have relevant and uptodate training environments for the students. They believe this really helps to bridge the gap between education and employment.”
It is the latest in a string of achievements for the Radmoor Restaurant which was recently awarded the Craft Guild of Chefs College and University Accreditation after successfully meeting the Guild’s strict standards and quality requirements.
