The College’s Careers and Enterprise Hub recently held a successful event to inspire and advise local businesses and entrepreneurs.
The ‘Kick Off Your Business’ event was delivered by Loughborough MP Jane Hunt as a collaborative effort between Loughborough College, Loughborough University, and Charnwood Borough Council. Highlights from the event ranged from the fascinating Starting Your Business session, hosted by the LLEP Business Gateway Growth Hub. Providing a one-stop shop for business development and support across the county, the session offered valuable advice, information, and funding resources.
Participants also had the opportunity to hear from Department of Work and Pensions’ Nick Wardle in Making Time for Your Business, an invaluable session about time management and productivity strategies key for boosting business.
Laura Shepherd, Director of Strategic Partners and External Relationships at Loughborough College, said, “It was great to see over 30 local businesses at the event, I look forward to continuing our collaboration with our partners across the region to to support local organisations."
Other sessions that offered inspirational and beneficial advice on action planning and funding opportunities were hosted by Loughborough University, the British Bank Finance Hub, and Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, amongst others.
Offering further expert support were representative from leading national organisations NatWest, Lloyds Bank, and Barclays Eagle Lab, in partnership with De Montfort University.
The Careers and Enterprise Hub, which is a partnership between Loughborough College, Loughborough University and Charnwood Borough Council, is part of the Town Deal, is located at the heart of Loughborough’s vibrant Market Place.
