Job Description

Base location: Home based* with travel to clinical settings and client homes in Leicester and Leicestershire

Contract: up to 31st December 2025 with a possibility of extension

*Your primary residence must be in England or Wales. For contractual purposes, "home" is the address listed on your job application. Any changes to this address, whether permanent or temporary, must be approved in advance by your line manager. This role is primarily home based, however, some travel may be required for meetings and team activity. You will be informed in advance regarding any travel requirements. This includes but is not limited to meetings held quarterly or once in six months without any specific time set. Please be advised that we’re not considering fully remote posts for this role.

About the role:
We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our Macmillan Welfare Benefits Advice Team. You’ll work closely with people affected by cancer, providing compassionate advice on welfare benefits.

The main purpose of the role:

Offer guidance and support on welfare benefits via phone, letter, online meetings, and in-person visits (when necessary).
Assist clients in making well-informed choices about their benefits.
Advocate for clients, contacting services and negotiating on their behalf to maximise their income.
Carefully maintain records to ensure seamless service for our clients.
