A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.
Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

Information
This Apprenticeship consists of a mixture of blended learning in the work place and compulsory taught delivery at Loughborough College. The taught element will be one day per month for the duration of the practical delivery of the Apprenticeship. If functional skills are required, these are taught in college lessons.
Entry Requirements

- Apprentices with GCSE grades C/4 or above in English and Maths are exempt from Functional Skills
- Apprentice will need to be able to demonstrate leading and managing at least 2 people
- If an Apprentice has not already achieved Level 2 (GCSE C/4 or above) English & Maths they must: -Study for and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 English & Maths
- Initial Assessment on enrolment Level 1 Maths & English.

On-programme is the learning phase for Apprentices to apply the academic theory to their own organisations and role, and to capture the skills, knowledge and behaviours developed on the programme and in the workplace. To achieve this, Apprentices need to complete off-the-job training during the on-programme phase of their Apprenticeship, this is tracked and monitored through our e-portfolio. This might be achieved through shadowing colleagues, E-learning, internal training and research as well as taught sessions by Loughborough College.
