YOUR APPLICANT EVENT INFORMATION
Firstly thank you for choosing to apply to study at Loughborough College! We’re really excited to get you started on your journey to becoming a part of the Loughborough College Experience and starting your course with us!
Our admissions process will look a little different this year. The College continues to prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, students, potential students, their families and all who visit our campus above all else. With this in mind this year we will be adopting an online Applicant Event process for larger scale events.
Our aim is to make this process easy to follow to ensure that all of our applicants are able to access information that will enable them to make an informed choice with regards to the most appropriate course option for them to study with us.
Please scroll down to the “Upcoming Events this month” section where you will find the link to your Applicant Event. Please remember to have your Student reference number to hand, as this will be required to join the event. (This will be included in your event invite email).
Take some time to watch our video or take a virtual tour showcasing some of the excellent opportunities, outstanding facilities and amazing experiences you can look forward to as a Loughborough College student!

FREQUENTLYASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive, if you have a question that isn’t answered here please get in touch.
What happens if I don’t get the grades I was expecting?
At your registration event, which will take place on or after the official GCSE results day of Thursday 21st August 2025, a member of the teaching team will meet with all applicants on an individual basis. At this Sign Up meeting they will assess all the achieved grades and look at any additional supporting information at that time, then decide on what level of study programme to offer.
Can I speak to somebody about changing my course choice?
Yes, we have a dedicated Student Recruitment team who are happy to help. They can look at alternative course options with you. Just send them an email at admissions@loucoll.ac.uk
Does the college offer financial help?
We are able to offer a bursary fund to help with additional costs associated with your course, including transport (bus passes), kit or uniform and childcare costs.
Eligibility is based on household income. You don’t need to request a bursary application form, as we automatically send them out to everyone who has applied to us as soon as they are released (usually in July). You can contact our Learner Services team with questions around financial support via email at Studentfinance@loucoll.ac.uk.
What funding is available for tuition fees?
There are no tuition fees for full-time students under 19 who are enrolled on a Further Education course. If you are over 18 then the Student Recruitment team will be sending out fee and funding information directly to you over the summer. They can also be contacted should you have any specific fee enquiries via email at Studentrecruitment@loucoll.ac.uk
I need extra support with my studies. What help can I get at Loughborough College?
There are staff on hand to help you with your academic progress throughout your time as a student with us. We also have specialist advisors who can help with additional requirements, and we have a fantastic team of learning support assistants who are able to provide in-class assistance.
It is however vital that we know about any additional support needs or assistance that you already have in place or feel will be needed to support you in your studies as early as we possibly can.
Following the Applicant Event you will be sent a survey to complete. If you have not already declared any additional support needs on your application, it is important that you complete the survey question relating to additional learning support. This will enable our Learner Services team to contact you and assess options before you commence your studies.
Can I work a part time job whilst studying?
We would recommend that you work no more than 8-9 hours per week. Research has shown that 10+ hours a week can negatively affect academic achievement, so make sure you are prioritizing correctly.
